History
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on Howard University's campus on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two Black women. Delta Sigma Theta is a private, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to establish and maintain a high standard of morality and scholarship among minority women, while providing services and programs to promote human welfare.
This sisterhood is a public service organization with over 200,000 members including many famous and notable Deltas worldwide. The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Thrust:
• Economic Development
• Educational Developement
• International Awareness & Involvement
• Physical and Mental Health
• Political Awareness & Involvement
There are several chapter members on Auburn's campus. Some of our recent graduates have chosen to pursue higher education degrees in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Sports Management, and Law. The sky is the limit for Kappa Upsilon members.
